As someone who also jumped out of perfectly good airplanes :), I hear you.

I'm not saying that doing things most people would see as difficult or uncomfortable cannot be fun.

I'm just saying that in most cases (IMO), having a greater purpose than chasing fun makes it more likely that you'll achieve challenging goals, above and beyond ones where you find fun in the very challenge.
