Before my parents passed away, I told them I see their money as just that - theirs - to do with as they please. They can (and should) spend as much of it as they want on themselves. Once they're gone, they can leave it to whomever they please.
Having said that, had they chosen to leave either or both of my sisters out of their will, I would have given the appropriate portion of my bequest to the sister(s) who were left out. This because at that point it would be my money, and I wouldn't have wanted that inequity to get between us.
Thanksfully, that never came to pass, and the three of us each received one third - the best possible outcome.
