FWIW, low-balling clients are the worst. They have little appreciation and no respect for anyone they hire. They are often much more demanding (and at times outright fraudsters) compared to clients who know that if they want a professional, they have to be willing to pay professional rates, and have to respect and behave professionally toward freelancers and contractors.
