Great job getting those perks Perry.

Personally, I take a different path with reward cards. I know I could get the occasional 10% rebate if I really concentrated on it, and 3–5% more often, but almost always with some spending limit like the $2500 you saw. However, I much prefer the simplicity of Citi’s Double Cash Card, which gives a 2% reward on anything, with no limits.

My time and mental energy, as you put it, are worth more to me than trying to eke out every last possible bit of rewards. This also avoids the temptation of spending on things I may or may not have chosen to purchase without the higher rewards being in play.
