I agree with most of your points. The one thing that I call complete BS on is the tired "your home is a liability" rubbish from Robert Kiyosaki. If you don't have your own home to live in, you have to pay rent. That rent will pay off your landlord's mortgage. If you want to assess if your primary residence is a net loss or net gain, account for the savings it provides you by removing the need to pay rent.
