I agree with you in principle, that IDF soldiers are put in harm's way, and some are killed.
However, your "attacker-to-defender math, if Hamas has 30,000 fighters defending its tunnels expect 90,000 Israelis to die killing them" is BS.
The best numbers currently available are that the IDF has killed 9000 Hamas terrorists. and since the ground operation began, 188 IDF soldier were killed in action (https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2024-01-14/ty-article/idf-names-israeli-reserve-soldier-killed-in-gaza-strip-fighting-on-saturday/0000018d-0879-d71c-ad9f-4bfb1dcb0000).
So, the math isn't 3 attackers for each defender. It's more like 48 defenders for each attacker. If this math continues to hold, the IDF would lose another 439 soldiers to kill the remaining 21,000 terrorists.
I don't think any Israeli parents would be delighted to sacrifice their son or daughter, whether he or she was one of 627 or 90,000. However, I think they would all agree that having their child risk his or her life to eradicate Hamas is something that must be done.
And no, I'm not ignoring the likely continued tragic collateral deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians, given how Hamas fights from under, inbetween, and next to them. That is, as I said, tragic. It's unfortunately also unavoidable unless Hamas surrenders and/or stops using them as human shields.
