I can't say you're wrong. A certain level of self pampering is fine, but spending inordinate sums of money on stuff that doesn't make much of a difference to you isn't what I'd want to do.

Rather, I'd use the money to help our kids and granddaughter, and donate to our congregation and other good causes.
