I don't call it a money date, but every month I update my forever financial projection spreadsheet with the previous month's income, expenses, new investments made, and investment values. It let's me see where I underestimated, where I overestimated, what the markets did, etc. It's also where I look to see the expected short-and long-term impacts of a trip abroad we might want to take, a long weekend, and when we can downshift our businesses.
