I guess we'll see over the coming months. My non-expert observation is that the Fed had to raise interest rates as far and as rapidly as it did, because they clung far too long to the mistaken thought that high inflation was transitory. Now, they may well cling far too long to their combative attitude. If they do, their hope of a soft landing will be highly unlikely to materialize.
