I have a great deal of respect for you and your knowledge. However, I think you tend to go to the extreme end of conservative/pessimist world view.

That guarantees (as much as anything can) that you'll be protected from bad developments. However, it reduces your taking advantage of the more likely scenarios.

Given your background and current circumstances, that's a very reasonable stance. However, that doesn't make it the right stance for everyone.
