However, ChatGPT and other large language model based bots are likely an off ramp on the path to true AI, not the next step. While they make their answer read as super confident, and it's certainly eloquent, it's not an AI at all. All it does is start from the key words in your query and calculate the highest probability next word in its answer based on the data it ingested before. Rinse and repeat. That's it. It's why it sounds like natural language, but it's also why it's answers can be very wrong, because it doesn't understand or know anything. It's also why it'll never give you anything unique or controversial.
