I think anytime we use the word "deserve" in relation to buying things, we're entering a virtual minefield. The only things we all deserve (from a material perspective) are things required for survival - air, water, food, shelter, and medical care. And that doesn't mean gourmet meals, mansions, or any other maximalist notion.

Things beyond the above aren't deserved. They may be your priority, goal, and/or choice, but nobody owes them to you. That includes that *you* don't owe it to yourself.
