I wish I could contradict your feelings, but I think any resolution of the problem will be long and painful, especially for the have-nots.
As for moving abroad, estimates I read say there may be as many as 9 million US citizens living abroad (less than 3% of US citizens), with an annual outflow of about 100k (0.03% of population).
That's a drop in the proverbial bucket, and our population here grows at a rate of about 0.1% annually.
Moving overseas isn't easy from many perspectives - language, culture, costs to reestablish yourself, work permits, etc. Overall, I don't think this is a viable solution for most.
