I wouldn't say Israel is freeing the Palestinians. Not yet at least. If Israel succeeds in its goal of destroying Hamas and PIJ, and then allows the formation of a new Palestinian polity there, perhaps with a transitional international security force, perhaps that will turn out to be the case.

I certainly hope so.
