I'd elaborate on being concise by saying that if you can, you should avoid asking lots of if/then/else questions (my personal failiing).

Ask the initial question. If that's all your email does, it'll likely get answered very quickly. Sometimes, you can get an even faster response by asking that simple yes/no question by text (or WhatsApp or Signal chat).

Once you have your yes or no answer, you can move on to the relevant then/else part, be it a follow-on question or a request for action.
