Unfortunately, while there could be near-immediate peace if the Palestinians and their Arab supporters accepted Israel's right to exist where it is, within defensible borders, with no Arab "right of return" (that equals the demise of Israel as the Jewish national home), and stopped their attacks.

That was offered by Israel multiple times and rejected by the Palestinians every time.

On the other hand, if Israel laid down its weapons, it would be destroyed and its people massacred, as October 7 proved.
