If the newer claim takes precedence, then Israel's claim is the most recent as it is still current. Trying to cherry pick the point in history you want to use as the "best" claim is disingenuous.

I'm glad we can agree however that the solution has to start from the client fact of two people occupying the land and trying to find a way to generate enough trust that a two state solution can be launched.
