In general, any idea that provides positive input organically is good IMO, so I'd certainly vote for your idea.

Having said that, anytime you have humans involved, someone will find a way to subvert and game the system. In this case, it could be someone with tens of thousands of followers who might say "wink, wink, nudge, nudge... I'd be happy to recommend your article, if only..."
