I'm curious about two things:
When you say that many just think they're in the top 10% but are just kidding themselves, are you referring to net worth, income, or some combination?
Related to that, I'm puzzled as to how people could be kidding themselves when thinking they're in the top 10% (or any other tier) when it's so easy to look things up and know factually.
Second and more important, what do you propose as a way forward that's (a) politically achievable, and (b) likely to significantly improve things?
If you don't have a plausible answer to that, it seems you're accepting the status quo and its likely harshly negative outcomes.
