Interesting indeed, but I think calling it the shape of an electron is somewhat misleading. Electrons, to the best of our current understanding and ability to measure, are point-like. Hence they do not have a shape in the normal 3D sense that we use the word. What’s discussed here is the shape of the location probability distribution for an electron within a quantum dot. Important, certainly, but that’s not an electron’s shape.
