It will be a great thing for our society if parents can again afford to have one bread winner (mom or dad) and one rearing the kids.

I can't help but think that the financial pressures faced by couples currently (and for the last several decades) has (a) reduced the number of kids per couple to below replacement rate (i.e., fewer than 2.1) which leads to a graying population and greater pressure on Social Security and Medicare; as well as pushing kids to daycares before they're fully ready.
