Max, a rabid dog isn't held responsible because it is a dog. Hamas, while inhuman terrorists, are not dogs. They can, and must, be held responsible. When the US dropped the atom bombs on Japan, that killed over 100,000 mostly innocent Japanese civilians. That is far less excusable than inadvertently killing civilians because your enemy is shooting from behind them. If you can't see that, I don't know what more point there is to this discussion.
