If you sum up the visible numbers, you get $26,235. The total shown in the table is $30,648, which means that the insurance line should read $4413, but that is included in the calculation of average cost to own per year.

By the way, here’s what that 2019 Kia Soul Edmunds True Cost to Own looks like today. The 2020 models are out now, so the numbers are not all identical to what’s in the article, but the insurance is still $4413.
