As long as your car is going strong, you’re not spending too much on repairs, and not finding yourself at the shop with it too frequently, by all means.

I suggest 10 years as a plausible length of time for most new cars these days. But that isn’t intended as a hard and fast rule.

Obviously, the longer you keep it, the more compelling the numbers become for buying new.
