I couldn’t agree more with your feeling, “What loving parent would be able to forgo that if they have the opportunity?

Major kudos on the kind of people you raised, and I totally agree that it’s a far better legacy than accumulating wealth.

The one thing I’d push back on, but very little since I suspect it’s a matter of wording rather than substance, is the evils of intergenerational wealth. I think that it’s a good thing, but up to a point.

That’s probably why Warren Buffet said a while back that he’d leave a nice bequest to his kids, but that the bulk of his estate will go to charity (specifically to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation).
