Thanks for a thought provoking essay. Unfortunately, you leave the reader with a lot of what doesn’t work and with no satisfactory answer as to what would be a workable conclusion.

Also, is there a moral dilemma regarding intergenerational wealth transfer when the wealth itself was not the result of immoral, unethical, or illegal acts?

Should society get to reclaim a portion of that wealth, against the likely wishes of the wealthy parent who passed away?

This is obviously what estate taxes do. Are such taxes inherently moral and ethical? If yes, is such morality a function of some threshold (i.e. deduction), or some level of taxation (i.e. tax rate) ?
