Fwiw, I absolutely am *not* confusing "never retire" with "financial independence, retire early," as the latter is all about saving for retirement (too much so, imo), whereas the former is about planning to *never* retire. It's certainly possible that Rocco has more recently pulled back from the whole "never retire" concept, though that would surprise me, as that was the major trust of his differentiation.
