I completely agree that entrepreneurs and freelancers are best served by at least completely understanding what their accountant is doing and why; as well as discussing tax strategy during the year so they learn from said accountant how to minimize their tax liability.

Where I think there’s still time savings is where you can collect and provide the documents, and not have to do the data entry. Also, you can ask the accountant “what if” questions and let them run the different scenarios.
