The advice you offer is certainly good. The only part of your article I take issue with is where you write "it’s your decisions and choices that make you 'poor' or 'broke'."

In most cases, it's good or bad luck that plays the largest role. Good decisions and choices can certainly make the best of a bad situation, but that best may still leave you poor.

On the other hand, poor decisions or choices can "snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory" if you had good luck and squandered it, but you may still be in better shape than someone wiser but far less lucky.
