There is certainly a lot more to owning a car than fuel costs. I do mention another big one, which is the initial price. That latter counts for more than half of the 5-year true cost to own, e.g., a Tesla Model 3 Long Range (https://www.edmunds.com/tesla/model-3/2022/cost-to-own/?style=401922686).
I chose to concentrate on the fuel cost because it's one that I didn't see many others talk about.
As for undermining any conclusion I draw, I disagree, but you have of course the prerogative of holding that opinion.
