There's a subtle difference here. I'm not promoting anything like socialism let alone communism. At the same time, I think we've allowed the pendulum to swing too far in the opposite direction, where a CEO makes hundreds, if not thousands of times what their average employee makes.

In far too many cases, these CEOs' contribution to the company's bottom line is nowhere near in line with their total compensation.

I'm all for people being incentivized to contribute more to the economy and society. However, I suspect most managers would work just as hard for $2M a year as they would for $20M a year.
