Very nicely put, and hard to argue with your main point about remembering to savor life, and not cheat yourself of that enjoyment out of fear.

The one thing I'd add is that for some of us, the idea isn't to amass a lot of money out of fear of running out. It's to amass enough to have a comfortable retirement, and leave more for our kids than our parents were able to leave for us.
