When my son was 3 years old, we moved from Israel to Lubbock, TX for five years. Talk about culture shock!

Unfortunately, with very few Jews there, the only decent pre-K schools were run by churches. We sent him to the First Baptist pre-K because they (nominally) didn't start religious indoctrination until age 6.

As we toured the facility with the lovely administrator, she showed us that the kids were rehearsing for their Christmas play about Jesus.

I jokingly suggested that our son should play the part of Jesus since he was the only Jew there. She didn't appreciate the humor.
