You don't "deserve" anything more than life and liberty. Even the US Declaration of Independence didn't try to say you also deserve happiness. You deserve the right to pursue happiness.

But pursuing requires effort. It requires being willing to put in the work, even, or perhaps especially when you don't feel like it.
